Please be advised that Adventures of the Heart & Mind is not a crisis resource and should not be contacted in the case of emergency.
We understand that clients of our office may fluctuate in the level of care and services they require, and we would be happy to connect you with other resources if needed non-urgently.
In the event of a medical or psychiatric emergency or an emergency involving a threat to your safety or the safety of others, please call 911 to request
emergency assistance or go to your nearest emergency room. You should also be aware of the following resources that are available to assist individuals who are in crisis:
We will do our best to address any urgent needs as quickly as possible, but also we want to make sure you have additional resources to get the assistance you need in the event we are not immediately available as we are not a crisis resource. If your need is urgent, but not an emergency, you can contact us to schedule an appointment or for additional resources. Additional resources are available online at adventuresoftheheartandmind.com/emergency-resources
The practice is located in California and abides by Pacific Standard Time. The practice is considered to be an outpatient facility, and is able accommodate individuals who are currently reasonably safe and resourceful. As a general rule, important issues are better addressed within regularly scheduled sessions, as availability outside of these times may be limited and cannot be guaranteed.
Your therapist may not be available at all times or on call. If at any time this does not feel like sufficient support, please inform your therapist or the practice and they can discuss additional resources or transfer your case to a therapist or clinic with availability to better meet your needs if we are unable to find a solution meeting your needs. You are welcome to communicate non urgent matters with your therapist and the practice in between sessions, though please be advised communications by any method (call, text, email, secure portal message) requiring in excess of 15 minutes of your clinician’s time are billed at your clinicians prorated fee. You may leave a message for your therapist at any time on our confidential voicemail or by messaging through the secure client portal. If you wish to have your call returned, please be sure to leave your name and phone number(s), along with a brief message concerning the nature of your call. If a message is not left, a return call may not be made due to confidentiality concerns.
Therapists office hours may vary between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday through Thursday (our office is closed Friday-Sunday). These hours may vary, as therapists generally build their schedules around their current caseload of clients and therefore these hours may change without notice. If you contact your therapist within business hours outside of a scheduled appointment slot, non-urgent phone calls and communications are returned during the therapist’s normal work days within 48 hours. We do not return calls, emails or texts on weekends or holidays. If you are having a mental health emergency and need immediate assistance, please contact a designated crisis resource as outlined in the emergency resources.
